Christmas Greeting for 2012*
For many years now, Barbara has written a Christmas poem that is sent to our family, friends, owners and renters. We get so many positive comments that we are posting it on our site just in case you did not receive one - all others are here too if you want to read them
‘Twas early Christmas morn; we were very
upset,
It was past midnight with no signs of Santa yet
The
tree was decorated as well as the front door
Welcoming family and friends inside as before
Empty stockings were hung by the chimney with care
As we hoped Santa Claus and elves soon would be there
No toys, no clothes, no gifts under the Christmas tree
Since Santa brings them to us, not you and not me
I thought - should I grab my keys and head
for the door
And frantically search for an open all night store
I could purchase some candy and some little toys
And place them under the tree for good girls and boys
Where was Santa, his elves, sleigh and trusty reindeer
But as much as we wished, they did not appear
The sky was so clear with twinkling stars and full moon
Surely the Santa entourage would come here soon
Although a fresh blanket of snow covered the
ground
That shouldn’t delay them - they knew their way around
His sleigh was equipped with a navigational beam
Loaded with gifts and guided by his competent team
As the minutes ticked by and dawn was almost near
I thought - could he travel the world and still get here?
Suddenly I saw movement way up in the sky
And I knew it was Santa flying there so high
He was heading due
south and would soon arrive here
Bringing to all his gifts of good will and good cheer
I went back inside but couldn’t believe my eyes
And wasn’t quite ready for this Christmas surprise
The stockings were bulging with toys, candy and stuff
And stacked under the tree were gifts more than enough
I had not seen Santa Claus come nor seen him leave
But his presence was felt and I really believe
The true spirit of
Christmas is love, hope and cheer
We wish you these blessings for the upcoming year
Merry Christmas and
Happy New Year
