Christmas 2010

 

‘Twas a few days before Christmas and Mrs. Claus was aquiver, the problem - toys that Santa could not deliver

Seems Santa had been snacking on goodies all year, feeding not only himself but all his reindeer

 His classic red and white suit so warm and so furry, did not fit unless he lost weight in a hurry

Rudolph and his friends including Comet and Vixen, so busy eating ignored the sleigh needed fixing

Mrs. Claus pondered as to what she should do; knowing children everywhere expected clothes and toys new

She gathered the elves and set up a plan they thought best, whereby Santa could travel North, South, East and West

They would make sure Christmas would come to all far and wide; Santa, sleigh and reindeer would make their Christmas Eve ride

Cookies and candies, nuts and fruit cakes and such, would be wrapped as gifts and marked “Do Not Touch”

Some of the elves would sew gussets in Santa’s suit, and others would stretch the leather on his big black boots

More fur would be added where needed here and there, so that he would be dressed in the finest Santa menswear

Another group of elves went to the big storage shed, to work on Santa’s sleigh trimmed with gold, green and red

They polished the seat and shined runners until they gleamed, and made sure the worldwide navigation system still beamed

On Christmas Eve listen, you may hear a reindeer hoof, as fat, jolly Santa and sleigh land on your roof

                           

You can remember the adage that behind every great man, there are others helping to make him the best that they can

Now Santa, Mrs. Claus, elves, Rudolph and all the reindeer, wish you a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year
