Christmas 2000

'Twas the week before Christmas and down at the sea

We were looking forward to the holiday so happily

Our shopping was finished and wrapped with a bow

No need to worry if we got lots of snow

Exercising, getting in shape and staying that way

Was the resolution we made last New Years Day

So up on the boards we went for our run

Eating pizza and popcorn would be more fun

We hadn't even gotten into our stride

When what to our wonder should pass us so wide

But nine little reindeer with Rudolph as leader

Each riding a new, bright red, ten speeder

And right behind in a candy striped surrey

Was a slimmed down Santa so jolly and merry

They were up on the boardwalk getting fit and trim

Bicycling was better than going to a gym

The elves were still making the toys up north

For elves get their vacation December twenty-fourth

As we jogged down the boardwalk with Santa and all

We heard him exclaim to everyone - big and small

Merry Christmas, Peace, Joy, Happiness and Health
